Barbara has been going through a divorce for over six years. Now, after three attorneys and an enormous amount of money, she has nothing. She started drinking, mixing it with her prescription medication and is now addicted. She tried AA, but after 8 months she fell off the wagon. She asks if she can't afford rehab, what can she do? What do you think?

She has tried repeatedly to get off the drug, but the withdrawal symptoms are horrible and she feels so much better when taking it. She doesn't abuse it and has been on it for over 10 years. LaDonda spends and spends. Not on necessities, mind you, but on silly things they don't need. She will spend hundreds of dollars each month, but then gets angry if her husband wants to buy one thing for himself. He calls her a shopaholic, and she asks if there really is such a thing and asks if she needs a shrink. What do you say?

Megan broke up with her boyfriend a year ago because of his lies. They got back together and suddenly he became Honest Abe because, he says, he smokes weed and that makes him honest. It also calms him down and helps with his anger. In fact, he's trying to get a card from his doctor for medical marijuana. She doesn't want to marry a man who smokes weed many times a day. She loves him but wonders if she should end this now. Thoughts?

Patsy's fiancé's sister is addicted to meth, and she'll do whatever it takes to get her hands on it. She recently had a hospital stay because of the meth use. She says she can't get out of bed without the stuff, and it's affecting the whole family and all her friends. She asks how they can help her. What would you suggest?

Sally Anne is addicted to fast food. Any time she's in her car, she is compelled to grab a drive in meal, sometimes two or three times a day. Sometimes she'll buy an entire meal, take a bite of each item and throw the rest away. Then she cries about it, but still can't stop it. She wants to know what can she do about this. Thoughts?

Doug shares his life of getting high since the age of 8 to present. At age 54 he has abused many things, and has lost all of his teeth because of meth. Now he gets his highs from bath salts since it's so cheap, but wonders how long he can keep this up. Any advice for this addict?

Natalie is an 18 year old female who is in a three year relationship. She yells and screams at her boyfriend because he watches a lot of porn. Yet, she does the same thing! She can't stop watching porn every day, and she also can't stop feeling the guilt afterwards and she can't stop abusing him for doing it. What's going on here?

Rebecca has a 17 year old gifted daughter, and she has always stressed the value of an education. Meanwhile, she worked, worked, worked as an editor and writer, while also going to school. When her mother died, she became addicted to prescription drugs and was arrested. She completed therapy and her life is back on track, except her daughter has moved in with her aunt, and is refusing to forgive her mother. Calls, texts, emails, flowers go unanswered, and she wants to how how to get her daughter to come back home to her. Do you have advice for this troubled mom?

Andrey was an alcoholic and addict six years ago. It was only after laying in a hospital bed in a coma, with the doctors telling his parents and girlfriend he would not survive that he considered change. Then after his family's intervention, he realized something must be done and he began his road to recovery. Now he heads his own recovery program, offering hope and help to others. He feels his addiction was for a purpose and led him right where he is supposed to be. Has that ever happened to you?

Vishwanath is a 22 year old man who finds he is constantly thinking of sex, looking at pornography and viewing sexual photographs. He can't concentrate at work and it's becoming a huge problem. He needs to stop this obsession, but hasn't been able to do so. Is this even a problem? Do you have suggestions to share?

Greg is concerned about his wife. She was prescribed 1 to 3 Oxycodone pills a day, but she's taking 6 to 8. A few days ago she had a psychotic episode, complete with paranoia, memory loss and she was speaking irrationally. He had to take her to the ER, where her blood work returned as normal, but the doctor said it was a medication induced psychosis. He wonders what to do now. If this were your loved one, what would YOU do?

When they met, Natalia wasn't bothered by her boyfriend's marijuana use. Now she's 27 and he's 36 and there's no sign of him letting up. He smokes and drinks daily, ignoring her and the house in the process. He lies, hangs out with much younger people and has no motivation to do anything without alcohol or drugs. Monica has been married almost 15 years to an alcoholic and drug addict. After years of drinking, he was hospitalized for a month, with orders to no longer drink or abuse drugs. One day he was smoking pot, and included her 17 year old son. He treats them like they're burdens on him, and has become very mean. She wants to kick him out, but how does she handle the guilt? He only has 20 percent of his pancreas and is diabetic. Would you have trouble making him leave, or would the guilt stop you, too?

Sarah's son has been a patient at the Betty Ford Clinic and other rehab programs for the last 13 years for marijuana, gambling addiction, DUI and pathological lying. Months ago he was arrested for marijuana and a DUI, was booked into jail and lost his job. Mom figured this was rock bottom and hired an attorney. The moment the DUI was dismissed he began smoking, gambling and lying again full force. She has paid for everything and now she's had it. He blames it on his depression, although he refuses to take his meds. She asks, how do you help a son who constantly lies to you and betrays you? Do you know?

Tina has been married to her husband for 15 years. Recently he gave up smoking, and at one point she asked him if he was smoking again, to which he said no. Then she caught him smoking! She asked him to leave the house for a while, because she thinks if he's lying about this, what else is he lying about? Now she's not sure what to do. Should she have him come back or divorce him?
